The xshot capture app
xshot is a white-label egocentric capture app that data teams license to run their own collection programs. If a program invited you, the xshot iPhone app is where you film short videos of everyday life — making coffee, folding laundry, tidying up — and get paid by that program for the clips that pass its checklist. This page is support for people using the app; if you run a program and want to license xshot, that's on the homepage.
How it works
Pick a project. Every project shows exactly what to film, how to film it, and what it pays — before you start. Some projects include a quick unpaid practice check first.
Press record. You record short videos on your phone, on your own schedule. You see every video before you send it, and the camera only runs when you press record.
Get paid. Your videos are reviewed against the project's checklist and the program pays you for the ones that pass. Using the app is free — no fees, no starter kits, nothing to buy.

Your data, plainly
Videos you record for a project — along with audio, device-motion data, and submission details — are used for that project's review, payment, delivery, and support. We never use your capture data for advertising, tracking, or unrelated AI training. The full policy is available in the app and here on the web.
